Sous Chef – Fresh Food Gastropub

Location: Flintshire, North Wales

Salary: £36,000 – £38,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 45 hours per week

Start Date: Immediate

This is a fantastic chance to join a busy and growing venue, working with a highly skilled Head Chef and a supportive team who take real pride in delivering outstanding dishes made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

About the Role

As Sous Chef, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen — supporting the Head Chef, ensuring consistency and quality, and helping lead a motivated team in a fast-paced, rewarding environment. You’ll also have the chance to develop your skills and progress within an ambitious hospitality group that values training and internal promotion.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary of £36,000 – £38,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Head Chef with all aspects of kitchen management

  • Lead and motivate the team in the Head Chef’s absence

  • Maintain consistently high food standards and presentation

  • Uphold food hygiene and safety regulations at all times

  • Contribute creative ideas for menus and daily specials

  • Train, coach, and develop junior kitchen staff

About You

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef in a fresh food kitchen

  • Passion for quality, flavour, and presentation

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Calm, organised, and able to perform under pressure

  • Flexible to work evenings and weekends

  • A team player with a positive, proactive attitude
