Salary: £30,000 – £38,000 per annum (depending on experience)

About the Role
As Head Baker, you will oversee the entire bakery operation, producing a core pastry range, simple breads, and a small cake selection. You will design the production schedule, refine the menu, and ensure all goods are ready early each morning for delivery to a second shop. This role offers significant autonomy, creativity, and the chance to develop a small team around you. It is ideal for an ambitious artisan baker who wants to build something of their own within a modern, growing brand.

Key Responsibilities

Produce high-standard artisan pastries, breads, and cakes to a consistent level

Develop and refine the bakery menu, including seasonal additions

Design and manage a production schedule to meet early morning deadlines

Maintain high levels of quality, organisation, and cleanliness

Contribute ideas for future product lines and bakery growth

Lead, motivate, and develop bakery staff as the team expands

Manage stock, ordering, and operational efficiency
About You

Proven experience producing high-quality artisan baked goods

Strong skills in pastries, lamination, viennoiserie, and small-batch baking

Experience in a bakery, patisserie, or artisan coffee shop environment

Organised, reliable, and confident working to early morning schedules

Creative, passionate, and inspired by modern bakeries

Comfortable working independently in a start-up bakery setting
