Key Responsibilities
● Provide secondary support to Area Managers by managing catering operations across educational and business sites
● Deliver full catering, vending, and hospitality services when covering for Catering Managers during absence
● Support and train Catering Managers to achieve company targets and budgetary goals
● Lead and motivate teams, managing performance, training, and development
● Carry out disciplinary investigations and performance reviews as required
● Manage client relationships professionally, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and communication
● Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene, health and safety, and site compliance
● Conduct unit and health & safety audits to company standards
● Support stock taking and accurate completion of all operational paperwork
● Share best practice and operational insights across sites to drive continuous improvement
● Assist with recruitment, induction, and training of new staff
● Recommend and implement operational efficiencies and new systems to enhance performance
● Work flexibly across multiple sites as required, including occasional weekends and special functions
Requirements
● NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2 in Catering (minimum requirement)
● Proven experience in a contract catering management or supervisory role
● Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage diverse teams
● IT proficient with experience using management systems and reporting tools
● Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to different environments
● Positive, proactive attitude and professional appearance
● Full driving licence and access to own transport (essential)
● Flexibility to work varied hours and travel between sites
● Enhanced DBS check required prior to appointment
