About the Role

As a Commis Chef, you will support the kitchen team in preparing and cooking high-quality dishes while developing your culinary skills through hands-on experience and training.

Working under the guidance of senior chefs, you will assist with food preparation, stock management, kitchen organisation, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. This role offers an excellent foundation for anyone looking to progress within the hospitality industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the preparation and cooking of food across kitchen sections
  • Supporting senior chefs during food service periods
  • Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
  • Assisting with stock control and storage procedures
  • Following food safety guidelines and company procedures
  • Ensuring work areas remain organised and tidy
  • Learning and developing culinary skills through practical experience
  • Supporting the wider kitchen team to deliver excellent guest experiences
  • Contributing to a positive and collaborative working environment

 

What You’ll Need

  • A genuine passion for food and hospitality
  • Enthusiasm to learn and develop new culinary skills
  • Ability to work effectively under supervision
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Understanding of basic food hygiene practices (preferred but not essential)
  • Positive attitude and willingness to take direction
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety
