You’ll lead a talented kitchen team and play a key role in delivering high-quality, traditional carvery offerings in a welcoming and community-focused environment.
About Us:
We are working in partnership with a leading hospitality group who have recently acquired this fantastic 200-cover venue in Halifax. The venue is focused on providing top-notch, traditional carvery meals in a warm, inviting setting. As the Head Chef, you’ll lead a team of four chefs, shaping the menu and ensuring that every dish meets the high standards our customers expect.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead a team of four chefs in the preparation and delivery of high-quality carvery dishes

Ensure that all food meets the highest standards of taste, presentation, and quality

Oversee kitchen operations, including stock control, food preparation, and ordering

Maintain health and safety standards and comply with all regulations in the kitchen

Manage food costs and work with the General Manager to meet financial targets

Develop and evolve the menu, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer feedback

Train, mentor, and develop junior kitchen staff, helping them grow in their careers
Requirements:

Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef in a busy kitchen environment

Strong leadership and team management skills

A passion for traditional, high-quality food and carvery offerings

Excellent knowledge of food hygiene, health & safety, and kitchen operations

Ability to manage stock control, food costs, and maintain financial targets

Strong organizational skills and ability to thrive under pressure

Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and evenings
