Sous Chef Job – Alcester

Location: Alcester, Warwickshire

Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 per annum (Depending on Experience)

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 37–40 hours per week

About Us:

We are a family-run, independent free house located in the charming town of Alcester. Our food-led pub is known for its vibrant and evolving menus crafted from high-quality, locally sourced ingredients. With a loyal customer base and a Michelin-trained Head Chef leading the kitchen, we pride ourselves on delivering standout dishes in a warm and welcoming environment.

What We Offer:

● Competitive salary of £28,000 – £32,000 per annum, depending on experience

● 37–40 hour working week with consistent rota and sensible finish times

● Typically finished by 9:30 PM – split and straight shifts available

● 28 days holiday

● At least one weekend day off where possible

● Mentorship and guidance from a Michelin-trained Head Chef

Key Responsibilities:

● Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations and menu development

● Work as part of a tight-knit team delivering fresh, high-quality dishes

● Contribute to the evolving, seasonal menu with input into new ideas

● Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment

● Ensure consistency and high standards during service

● Support junior team members with training and guidance

Requirements:

● 3–5 years’ experience in a fresh food kitchen

● Previous experience in gastropubs or independent food-led venues preferred

● Passion for creative cuisine – particularly BBQ and/or Korean-style dishes

● Strong work ethic, team spirit, and calmness under pressure

● A hands-on approach and a genuine desire to make an impact
