KSB Recruitment is looking for an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to join our team in Reading. This exciting opportunity involves working at a Military Camp, where you’ll play a key role in leading kitchen operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality meals to a large number of people.
As a Sous Chef at KSB, you’ll be part of a passionate and friendly team in a structured yet rewarding environment that values leadership, teamwork, and professional growth.
Responsibilities:
✅ Assist in leading the kitchen team, ensuring smooth daily operations
✅ Prepare, cook, and oversee meal production according to set menus and recipes
✅ Supervise and support kitchen staff, ensuring quality and efficiency
✅ Maintain high food safety and hygiene standards at all times
✅ Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and minimize food waste
✅ Ensure compliance with Food Hygiene, Health & Safety, COSHH, and HACCP regulations
Qualifications & Requirements:
✔️ Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a senior kitchen role
✔️ Strong leadership and team management skills
✔️ Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations
✔️ Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
✔️ Excellent attention to detail and ability to uphold high culinary standards
✔️ Familiarity with food safety regulations and kitchen best practices
✔️ Valid certifications in Allergy Awareness, Food Safety/Hygiene, COSHH & HACCP
✔️ Full UK driving licence and own vehicle (due to location)
✔️ DBS clearance (preferred but not essential)
