As a Hospitality Recruitment Agency, we speak to lots of candidates every day. As you can imagine, they all have questions to help them decide if hospitality work is for them. There are however several questions that come up time and again. We thought it would be good to share these with you to help you decide if working in hospitality for a recruitment agency is for you.
How Often Do I Get Paid?
At KSB we pride ourselves on paying our temporary employees promptly on a weekly basis. You will find most temporary hospitality roles will be paid weekly.
How Do I Accrue Holiday?
As a temporary employee, you are entitled to holiday. The amount of holiday you accrue will depend on how many hours and days you’ve worked. However, unlike a permanent job, you can only take the holiday you have accrued. For example, if you have accrued 2 days you cannot take 2 weeks off paid.
How Many Hours Are Available?
This depends on what you are looking for but at KSB we work with you. We find you roles that match your needs. For instance, if you only want 20 hours a week, we will look for roles that match this. On the other hand, if you’re looking to work as much as possible, we’ll look for full-time with overtime. It’s tailored to what you want, if you apply for a role and find it’s not for you, we’ll look for something that is.
Will You Pay For Transport?
Again, this depends on the job in question. Some will provide transport or fuel costs. Others, you will need to get there yourself. Once again, we can work with your requirements.
Is Accommodation Provided if I Want To Relocate?
Most places will provide accommodation if you need to relocate even if just for the short term. Depending on the establishment, you may have to pay a small fee for the accommodation.
Is It Only Seasonal Work You Offer?
We offer work throughout the year. However, there are certain times of the year when we can offer more work due to increased demand. Such as Christmas, summer and Easter for example.
Can I Work With My Friends?
Here at KSB, we are more than happy for you to work with your friends. They will need to go through the same process as you. If successful, you can work together. We also run a referral scheme where if your friends are successful you can be rewarded with a voucher of up to £250.
Where Is Work Located?
All across the UK. As mentioned previously if you don’t live local to a job that sounds good, accommodation is likely to be provided so always enquire.
Will I Be Allocated A Point of Contact at The Hospitality Recruitment Agency?
At KSB you work with a dedicated account manager. They will be the person you will contact for anything you need relating to work. From hours to issues at work. They will also ring to ask how you are getting on. We can’t speak for all recruitment agencies but we’re sure many will adopt the same idea.
How Will I Find Out About Work Available?
When you join the KSB Hospitality Team, you will receive regular updates via email and text to advise what jobs are available to you. Your account manager will also regularly phone you to talk through new roles. You will only receive these if you are on short-term contracts. If you are working for one establishment on a longer-term contract, we won’t update you as regularly but will check in with you.
How Much Availability Do I Need?
There are always jobs that require people to be available immediately. Being available at short notice gives you a big advantage as more work opportunities are available. Saying that, if this is not possible we can still accommodate as we have bookings in advance too.
