Chef Position – Southwater, West Sussex
Salary: £12.50–£14.50 per hour (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Approx. 30 hours per week (Tuesday–Sunday; closed Mondays)
Are you a calm, organised, and passionate chef looking for a fresh opportunity? We’re a busy, independently owned modern pub just outside Horsham, serving high-quality, authentic Greek cuisine. As our new chef, you’ll take full responsibility for the kitchen, working independently to deliver outstanding dishes both in-house and through our growing delivery service.
About the Role:
You’ll be the sole chef in the kitchen, preparing fresh, traditional Greek favourites — like gyros and halloumi fries — using top-quality ingredients imported directly from Greece. This is a fantastic role for someone confident working solo, who takes pride in delivering great food in a clean, well-run kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:
- Independently prepare and present authentic Greek dishes to a high standard
- Manage the kitchen’s hygiene, stock, and organisation
- Fulfil online delivery orders efficiently (Deliveroo, Uber Eats, Just Eat)
- Follow customer notes and modifications carefully
- Keep calm and organised during busy periods
- Maintain health and safety standards throughout the kitchen
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience as a Cook, CDP, or Junior Sous Chef, ideally in pubs, takeaways, or casual dining
- Comfortable running a kitchen solo, with good time management
- A proactive mindset and a passion for great food
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends (Tuesday–Sunday rota)
